New Moon in Scorpio // 11.11.15

On 11-11 our New Moon will enter in Scorpio, the sign of death and rebirth. For many of us, we have been recently feeling the grief of death or loss, figuratively and literally. For others, life has shifted and extreme new beginnings have begun. This my friends is Scorpio. Unapologetic, direct, forceful, but necessary Scorpio. This new moon reminds us that change is inevitable, and many many times it comes in ways very unexpected. One thing that we do know for sure, is that if we learn and allow ourselves to find the “surrender” then our lives can begin to unfold beautifully. This does not mean that there is not loss, or pain, or fear. But it teaches us that we can grow through it, instead of trying to run around it. When we can find ways to release the illusion of control over what we fear, and learn to trust in something, anything, greater than ourselves then we can learn to “let go”, “surrender”. It will turn into this beautiful process of rebirth rather than a devastating inner battle of struggle, hopelessness, and defeat.

If Scorpio teaches us one thing it is that we too can be the Phoenix bird, setting our lives aflame, emerging as a beautiful, strong, and willing bird that flies over our struggles, adversities and loss. It reminds us that we possess the strength and courage to look at our fears right in the face and say,”No longer will you rule my life.” When we do this, we clear our karma, our energy, and our life path. We begin to live and make decision based on love. New beautiful experiences will emerge, and when they do we give thanks. We pay our gratitude to the divine universe that has been on our side the whole time, even when we couldn’t see it. We pay gratitude to our community and tribes for being there for us, and we pay gratitude to ourselves for being human.

While Scorpio rules death, birth, and reproduction… it also then rules sexuality. For days leading up to the New moon and days after, be prepared to feel the sexual charges and urges that Scorpio will bring. Because this sign loves secrets, and dark mysteries, do not force these urges in a corner, or be irresponsible with this energy. Instead, we should find ways to express this passion in a healthy way. Sexual energy can be very fascinating if understood. Sexuality drives us of our human needs, wants, and desires. It can help us find a healthy release, if channeled in a positive way; it can connect us to our most primal being. As the new moon rises on the 11th, howl at the moon and connect with what makes us human…sexuality, desire, love, loss, grief, and change. Death and Rebirth.

Full Moon in Taurus 10.27.15 // Mellow Moon Tea

With all the weird energy going on, it’s hard not to wonder whether the full moon may be adding fuel to the fire. Energy is amplified during a full moon so you want to be conscious and calm as you promote a positive intention. Preparing this healing cup of tea is a ritual in itself, giving you time to be quiet with yourself and mindful with your actions. Chamomile is supportive, soothing and grounding. Hibiscus adds a fruity flavor (as well as antioxidants) and vanilla rounds it out with a creamy depth. Allow the simple act of sipping tea to become a meditation. This full moon is the last Supermoon of 2015. The intense energy makes it a great time to evaluate the seeds you planted during the new moon and to look deeply to find ways to adapt to any challenges you’ve been facing.

We love indulging in a simple tea ritual during the full moon, and how appropriate is it that this full moon is in the earth loving sign of Taurus? Not only do the ingredients in this tea reflect the grounding nature of Taurus’ energy, but the entire act of making tea allows you to participate in a simple healing process, leaving you deeply rooted and aware before you’re even finished with a full cup. Go ahead, brew up an entire pot. Put on some good tunes and let your mind reflect on the past month, or few. Be slow, be thorough, be determined. Through Taurus’ push and pull you will find balance.

Sip slowly, breathe deeply, and enjoy the last beautiful Supermoon of 2015.

New Moon in Libra // 10.12.15

Nothing like a beautifully balanced new moon in Libra to help us get back up and dust off from the intense full blood moon in Aries we all experienced. For many of us sudden changes came in forms of our health, career and relationships. On October 12th, a new moon rises in the sign of the scales…Libra. It reminds us that after the storm a peace and beauty will arise. Much like an intricate piece of blown glass or pottery, we too must be heated or placed into the fire to emerge new, polished, and reset. The storm is calming, the new moon is rising, the weather changing. It is all starting to create a beautiful picture if we allow our life to start unfolding organically.

Mercury has also gone direct, even though we are still in it’s “shadow stages”, we can finally start clearing up all the mishaps or miscommunications we had. During this last retrograde period some us we were shown aspects of our lives that really needed our attention and we can finally, honestly understand where we can began to grow.

A balanced life is a beautiful life, and Libra teaches us this. There is a time to be assertive and make those hard decisions and then is time to just BE. Fall is here, which reminds us that it is time to enjoy the fruits of our labor. For some of us, this means that our schedules will be super busy with work obligations and career advancement (especially air signs). For others, our calendars have cleared and it is time to cook a great meal for those we love, sit on the patio and just enjoy the company of those we adore. Whatever presents itself to you this new moon, just go with the tide, find the balance you need and enjoy the ride.

Let’s all try to bring balance to our relationships. This may be our partnerships at work, our family, our friends, or lovers. For those that have extra time, do something kind for those that find their schedules filled to the max. If you need help, learn to ask. If you can help, learn to give. Accept that things come and go, in and out they begin to flow.

Libra is also the zodiac sign of beauty. Now is a great time to take that hike you’ve been saying your going to take, go to an art gallery, fix up your home, get a haircut or simply sit outside and enjoy the weather. We are constantly surrounded by beauty of all mediums if we open our hearts, eyes and mind.
